About Us

Dear DOCF Affiliates, Friends, and Members

“Amazing things happen when women help other women.”
-Madi’s Gospos

Welcome to the official site of Deltas of Charlotte Foundation. Deltas of Charlotte Foundation (DOCF) is a 501©3 organization that was established in 1991, as a fundraising arm for a local sorority chapter. In 1994, the organization obtained nonprofit 501©3 status. In 2015, there was a strategic change: Deltas of Charlotte Foundation, aka “Deltas of Charlotte, Incorporated” became a sole entity.
Although our structure changed strategically, our mission remains stead fast To improve the lives of women, children and their families in the greater Charlotte area. As we continue to grow our footprint within the community, key strategic partnerships are the cornerstone of our success.
We are proud long term partnership with the Charlotte Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. as a key sponsor for the past 30 years of the annual Debutante Cotillion, and most recently the Scholarship Gala for non-traditional students. DOCF has contributed thousands of dollars in scholarships and charitable contributions locally through various other partnerships, including Habitat for Humanity, A Child’s Place, Salvation Army, Kids Voting, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, A Roof Above, Home4Me, to name a few.

We are only able to do this through you, our generous supporters, because of your donations and support of signature fundraising events; such as the Legacy of Black Women Film Showcase, BowTies & Pearls, In Living Color: a Community Soiree, and facility rentals.

We welcome you to join us in making an impact in the Charlotte community. Membership is open to all. On behalf of our Board of Directors, we encourage you to keep in touch via our newsletter and our social media platforms. It is our esteemed pleasure to serve.
Yours in Service,

Melissa Deas Nail & Akilah Weaver Hill
